Oh my dear goodness. We are just cruising through this year! As usual the facts and figures are from her 10 month day but the actual post is late because of camera/computer issues which will hopefully be resolved soon!
Stats:
Weight: 20 lbs (51%)
Things She's Doing:
Eating like a monster. This girl doesn't eat to live, she lives to EAT! She is having so much fun exploring new foods. It is fun to see her face light up when she tries something new. She much prefers to feed herself but luckily she still lets us handle the yogurt and other messy stuff.
Cruising around furniture a very little bit (just a step or two) and crawling at warp speed. She does stand for just a few moments on her own but then she loses confidence and plops down on her derriere. At this rate she will be our "latest" walker. (Alayna walked at 9 months, Jacob at 10 and James just before 11. Interesting, no?)
Making lots of fun sounds and noises. Her first word was "baba" for bottle and I've heard it a few times since. She's also said "Dada" a few times.
She still has her pacifier in the crib and car but doesn't really use it around the house when she's playing which is fantastic. It's so much better to hear her fun noises!
Playing with toys and dumping them out of their bins. She loves the animal box the best but she's also been known to dig through the car bin. She loves to chase balls around too which the boys love. She likes to be right in the middle of whatever the kids are doing - sometimes they love it and sometimes they don't.
Things She Loves:
Once again I have to say: her siblings. She always wants to be where they are and do what they are doing. I have a feeling this little girl is going to grow up way too fast!
Staying in her jammies as long as she can. She just looks so comfy and happy that I usually don't get her dressed until after her morning nap. She does not like having her clothes changed so it's easier to let her be, especially if we are just hanging out at home.
Splashing in the bath! She is such a splasher that the boys normally don't want to have her in the tub. If you've ever seen the boys and their bathtime antics you'll know that's a big deal!
Things to Remember:
This girls hair is a mess. It seems to have lost the reddish hue but I'm still not sure what color to call it - it's not blonde and it's not brown. Her hair has all sorts of whirls and swirls and now that her hair is getting longer we are getting a sneak peek at what kind of craziness lies in store for us. It's pretty curly right after it's washed but by the next day most of the curl is gone. It does have some waves though.
She wakes up completely happy most of the time. I love hearing her jabbering away in her crib after her nap and going in to see her happily playing with her Pooh bear. I love the big smiles I get as she raises her arms up for me to pick her up. It's one of my favorite moments each day.
She is a creature of habit. She does really well with her schedule and I am so pleased at how well it blends with the family schedule. Sometimes we get off schedule and those days are just never as good as the days when she gets both her naps and her meals on time.
Um, mom? I think I might be done with pictures...
Yep. I'm done.
