This happened a few weeks ago and it seems like a small thing but I want to record it. There is one week during the school year when siblings can come to lunch. Somehow I missed the memo and had completely forgotten about it. Tuesday of that week I was out running errands with Jacob and Ada while James was at preschool. We were headed to the library when I decided to drop something off at my friends house that I had been carrying around for a couple of weeks. I almost didn't do it but I felt that I should so I changed my route and headed her way. She wasn't home so I walked up to her door to leave it at the door. Next thing I know she is pulling up to her house but didn't pull in the driveway. She told me she was on her way to the school for lunch. (Her son is at school with Alayna - same grade, different class.) I was confused because she had her daughter with her. She told me it was Lunch Week and that siblings could go! I was so happy! I literally had just enough time to pull out and follow her there. We walked in as Alayna was finding a seat. Jacob was SO happy to go to lunch in the cafeteria and meet her buddies. Alayna was so surprised and happy to see us and all her friends just loved Ada. I had some little snacks with me and they had a blast feeding them to Ada. It was like she was a little dog that they were feeding and everyone thought it was so hilarious. Ada was happy, Jacob was happy, Alayna was happy, her friends were happy and I was happy!!! It was such a wonderful time.
I know that seems like a small thing but later my friend told me that she had been on her way to the school earlier but saw leaves on the way out of the neighborhood and decided to stop and pick some up. She then saw me pull in (I didn't see her) and knew I would leave it at the door so she was just going to leave but felt strongly that she should turn around. Then as we were talking she wasn't going to mention lunch because she was sure I was headed there anyway but felt strongly that she should mention it. I am so glad that I listened to the prompting to go to her house and the she listened to the prompting to turn around and tell me about the lunch. It was the only day I could have possibly gone so if either of us hadn't listened I would have completely missed the opportunity. I can go to lunch any time but sharing it with Jacob and Ada was so wonderful. I think this experience is so special to me is because it is yet another example to me that Heavenly Father is aware of me and wants to bless me. It wasn't a huge life-altering experience - just another one of the small, ordinary miracles that are all around me. If it hadn't happened we'd all go on just fine. But it did happen. Because He knows me and He loves me. I know this much is true.

That is such a blessing.....if only we could all listen when prompted like that....I'm trying to be better about it.
It is important to recognize the small miracles!! I love this sweet story.
